This months meeting as usual was well attended and we welcomed David Villanueva as our guest speaker, his talk was on site research, which proved very interesting, David has also written several books on the subject, and by his finds clearly knows his stuff!
Our FLO Andrew Richardson announced he is leaving his current position and taking up a new post with the Canterbury Archaeological Trust, we wished him all the best and thanked him for all his enthusiasm and help over the last few years.

The March meeting was well attended as usual, and the quality of finds again was high, we welcomed David Holman to identify and record any Celtic coins found by our members, these go on to the Celtic Coin Index in Oxford, and is something that we all feel is very worth while, adding to the mutual cooperation between detectorists and archaeologists.

There was another bumper turnout for the January meeting and we were pleased to welcome Andrew Richardson FLO who gave an intensive talk on the PAS and how it may be affected by future cut backs in funding. We were all encouraged to write to our local MP’S and government. We as a club are fully in support of the PAS.
We had the AGM where current committee stood down and were duly re-elected and as the club goes from strength to strength we are looking forward to a happy 2008.

The December meeting was a great success with members enjoying a free buffet prepared by our brilliant canteen ladies – we even had roast potatoes!!!
We were pleased to have David Holman on hand recording finds.
There was also a bumper raffle with top prize of a Tesoro detector being won by Sandra Buss.
We were pleased to appoint our new vice-chairman – Owen Baldock who was offered congratulations/commiserations in the same breath!
The club continues to go from strength to strength and we look forward to a happy, united 2008.

Wow! What a month for finds. The standard of finds were excellent and virtually all were worthy of Find of the Month . There was a good turnout of members and we were treated to an excellent talk by Paul Dyer on Flintlock weapons. He brought a good selection of guns which were passed around to members for a close look and it certainly made you realise how strong a person had to be to handle them and also nimble fingered for quick re-loading. Thanks Paul. We look forward to a fun Christmas meeting with food and soft drinks free for the evening and a bumper raffle. Find of the month results were:
